Australian Champion Sire 1899/1900.
Purchased to stand in England, 1895.
Died 10 June 1914 (brain haemorrhage).
Disliked his ears becoming wet. Before winning the Melbourne Cup, he flatly refused to go out in the rain when being saddled until an umbrella was held over his head. Subsequently, a small umbrella-like device was attached to his bridle to keep rain off his ears.
